Cupboard Love

Starworkers in London are currently obsessed with the delicious fare on offer at Lina Stores.  The family-run establishment stocks all manner of store cupboard essentials, such as homemade pesto, pasta, sauces, sausages, breads, olives and cheeses. The Soho instituation was recently refurbished but is still as charming as ever. We bumped in to the perenially chic Hannah Swerling  from ELLE Magazine by the green-tiled deli counter earlier today. It turns out that it’s not just the tasty produce she loves  – her fiance is part of the family firm!

Casa Mezcal

Casa Mezcal

Tuesday night I stopped by the Young Patrons of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas Cocktail Party with Conductor Alondra de la Parra at the soon-to-be-opened Casa Mezcal.  What a special night.  On top of endless servings of fresh empanadas and Dos Equis, there were several mini-concert previews of Mi Alma Mexicana (May 11 at Lincoln Center) by musicians from the orchestra.

This was hosted by Young Patrons of POA, which include:

Victoria Alexander, Amanda Álvarez, Coromoto Atencio, Barbara Bush, Lorea Canales, Martín Capella, Ignacio Carballido, Daniela Catán, Christian Cota, Guiselt Jimenez, Carlos Huber, Adriana Lanzillo, Pablo Sáinz-Villegas, Erik Stettler, Christopher Wheeldon, Carlos Zedillo

Summer’s a comin’…

It’s 70 degrees today in New York City and I’ve got lobster rolls on the brain.  My pre-summer festivities officially kicked off last night at The Mermaid Oyster Bar and I’m in love.  With fish tacos, that is.  This joint opened last November and is the perfect summer dinner spot if you’re stuck in the city.  The vibe is super laid back and beachy, and the menu just makes you happy.
