Welcome to Starworks. Where did you come from and what’s your background?
My background is a little all over the place. I grew up in Ohio and majored in Retail Merchandising at Ohio University then moved to London in 2006 to be with my now English husband. While there, I managed a cool little boutique, then I went on to work as a merchandising assistant in the lingerie department of a big box retailer in the UK. My passion was always more in fashion and not in “retail” so I made a life changing decision to move to LA this past May. I landed an amazing styling internship with Rachel Zoe and through them, ended up becoming a new Starworker!
What will you be doing for Starworks now?
I’m the new Starworks LA showroom manager and loving it! There has been a lot to learn in the past month and it’s been quite hectic at some times, but this position truly suits me. I’m responsible for everything– from keeping track of inventory to ordering office supplies. No two days are the same which makes it such an exciting office to work in. Plus everyone is awesome here!
Tell us a personal thought about yourself — latest music in your ipod, the last movie you watched, and something else?
I’ve got a really eclectic taste in music. If I had to pick one genre to listen to the rest of my life, it would be classic rock. My parents had great taste in tunes and I like to think it rubbed off on me. Just recently, I discovered Langhorne Slim and saw him at the Troubadour so he’s getting a lot of iPod play at the moment. But really, I love anything but country. The last movie I watched that I really loved was Bottleshock about the beginning of the California wine industry. If you’re a wine lover, it’s definitely a great watch! Hmmm… another personal thought, in general is that I’m a big family and friends person, love to read, huge beach bum, and love nothing more than to sit down with some good wine and conversation!
