This past Wednesday, I descended from the Hills of Harlem and picked up Amy Greenspon from the Upper West Side all the way down to the West Village where we had a marvelous dinner at Bobo. A cozy spot I’ve had the chance to visit on several occasions. Wednesday’s party was for designers Andy Spade, Maria Cornejo of Zero, Alice Temperley, and Antony Todd.

There was a very jolly collection of people at our table including Rebecca Guinness who is planning an American Road Adventure this summer and Casey Freemont who waxed nostalgic about The Grand Canyon. There was also the inimatable Serena Merriman who was hosting, as well as Anne Slowey and Byrdie Bell.

After dinner we skipped over to a dive bar called The Treehouse in the same crook of streets as the restaurant. Treehouse was not all that impressive – what a relief! A dive!

They did however have lots of hi-tech games to amuse the patrons. I haven’t played a video game since 1992 Tetris… let me tell you this new feature called Wii is hilarious! We bowled and played tennis (much harder). We then made our way east where Arden Wohl was in full celebration of her birth!

I was amazed to find the festive a bead boarded bright white little spot aglow with mirrored light. This place had been the dirtiest darkest little hole many many years ago called Plant Bar. Does anyone remember Plant Bar? It was very seedy and you always knew a DJ shoved in the back and there was even a bag stealing spree at one point (I was spared). There were loads of wonderful people to chat with and catch up on including my old neighbor Alex Olch, filmmaker and tie designer extraordinaire.

We all said a cheer for Arden and flew back uptown where I had the most surreal dream of returning to the party and sharing the dawn cab ride home with Mary Boone and her son. Strange.
