More NYT Short Films!

Brody Baker has Directed another original series of short films for the New York Times website called T (on online version of their print mag called T). Similar to the first series (Take, Utah), this new series is called Take, Brooklyn with a new cast including Charlie Cox, Kate Mara, Lily Cole, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Angela McCluskey and Zoe Lister Jones. Starworks was lucky enough to help consult Brody on the talent for this innovative content. We asked Brody a few questions about his internet series for the New York Times.

Ebon charlie
(Ebon Moss Bachrach, Charlie Cox)

Jauretsi: This series seems different from the last one in the sense there’s 1 protagonist that ties in all the shorts together. Can you describe this character — the common thread and how he relates to all the other characters?

Brody: Charlie Cox is the lead, it felt right to have a consistent character this time so we get a series of small moments from this mans varied relationships. These characters are never saying what they want or what they ultimately need from each other, and that’s heartbreaking to me, but it’s a consistent aspect of each of their relationships — this “fear” that they might be wasting a good thing. That it’s too late. But they’re not doing anything to change it.

This shorts series is exclusive to New York Times website. What has been the response of doing something so unique in the marketplace?

So far so good.
