Maybe I’ll start a column called “Another One Bites the Dust” (old post here). It’s gettin’ ugly out there in the Print publishing world.
It was announced that Mens Vogue has been reduced to only 2 times a year now — not a good sign. Gawker.com claims that Conde Nasts Portfolio is also suffering with an announcement that their web staff has been cut from 20 people to now 5. Their print publication has also been reduced from 12 issues to 10 a year.
It’s so weird that that Portfolio’s internet staff is taking the axing when it should be the other way around? It seems their website is their only hope to keep the brand alive. I feel bad for those 5 employees juggling all the pressure now.
