TV on The Radio’s new album, Dear Science, is just out… here’s the teaser webisode with one of the albums tracks “Heroic Dose”.
Tracks i’m feelin’….
“Halfway Home” – Wide open sonic landscape on this one
“Family Tree” – This one is a proper reincarnation of “Ambulance” but with a splash of hope
“Love Dog” – Tunde’s vocal rhythm here is a nice ride
“Heroic Dose” – Poetry set to French. Calming and compelling. Listen to video above.
The album is an experiment of schizophrenic styles — some soul-diving heaviness, then it jumps to indie electronica, then it jumps to disco funk track, etc, etc… (definitely some stuff you would not expect from TVOTR) — I’m quicker to listen to the non-dance tracks, but i gotta say I’m not mad at them for trying to poke around and mess with new genre’s. At least they are not carbon-copying their last 2 records. These guys really do march to their own drum, and credit is due for that. Sometimes jewels come out chaos… and there’s certainly some jewels here.
