Black Kids get Signed

Black Kids Sign To Columbia Records For North America.
Black Kids

Greg here mentioned this band in our 2007 Wrap-up blog post. We’re psyched the band is growing up and awaiting their official album, Partie Traumatic — a collection of 10 songs to be released on July 22, 2008. They are a crew of 4 friends from Jacksonville, Florida (Kevin Snow, Owen Holmes, and brother/sister Reggie & Ali Youngblood).

The song on heavy rotation at the Starworks office is “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You” which we just found out debuted at #11 on the UK singles chart. All this started from just posting 4 songs on their MySpace. They spent early 2008 touring with Kate Nash and Sons and Daughters in the UK. Check out the Black Kids website to hear stuff.

The latest? They killed it at Coachella this year.

If you care to see them, I’d buy tickets now. Their shows keep selling out.
