Bjork has always been reliable with introducing us to new talent. Her latest video for a track called “Wanderlust” poaches into the imaginations of 2 young guns, Isaiah Saxon and Sean Hellfritsch. The sweet fellows admit to dropping ‘shrooms and journeying into nature to create from a place of “artistic psychosis” (NY Times Interview Here). The co-director then stops himself from explaining the process, and calmly exhales with a smile… “it doesn’t translate into language”.
Bjork and the boys spent 9 months creating this. The puppets were all conceived and constructed in Matthew Barney’s studio. When all the money ran out, they all kept working ’round the clock. The completion of this video was truly a passion project for all involved.
The video was shot in stereoscopic 3-D. The narrative drops Bjork into some other dimension on a journey to confront her shadow and meet her maker. The rest, like any good art piece, is open to personal interpretation. Watch the “Wanderlust” video in 2D here.
